Artist & Designer
Christine Karren is the designer behind V M Karren’s book covers. From The Deceit of Riches to Tales of a Fly-By-Night, Christine has lent her discerning eye, literary judgement, technical training, and artistry to create covers that this author wants to be judged by.
Christine learned to love art as a child, taking private art classes from artists such as stage set designers and animators, drawing and painting as a hobby, and later winning several art competitions for excellence in portraiture, logo design, computer illustration, and watercolour.
She studied Graphic Design at Brigham Young University, and Art History at the University of Washington, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Professionally, Christine has worked within various art and design disciplines, including graphic design for a major communications company, freelance design work for branding of small companies, vintage sign design for interiors, educating children in art through drawing workshops, and promoting literary works through flybynightpress.com.
Her work has a strong illustrative character and she draws inspiration mainly from historical art, nature, and world cultures.
